Active360 CIC is a Community Interest Company (not for profit) founded in 2016 to give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds access to watersports.

Founded by Paul Hyman and Phil Amos - both from humble backgrounds themselves and both passionate about giving young people opportunities in life they may not otherwise have access to.

To date Active360 CIC has worked with hundreds of young people from West London in Brentford Lock and Paddington introducing them to SUP and canoeing.

The main aim is to reach out to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds including many at risk of crime and substance abuse most of whom would not have access to watersports, being relatively expensive sport to participate in due to high cost of provision (equipment, coaching, licensing etc.)

The aims for 2020 are:

  • securing the Adventure Activity Licence (AALA) to enable to extend the activities to the Tidal Thames

  • develop partnership with The Whale Company to engage young people in understanding and tackling the problem of marine plastic pollution

  • give young people to opportunities to train as helpers, River Guides and eventually coaches in SUP improving their employability across many areas
